​Beeball is a highly simplified form of baseball and softball aimed at teaching the youngest children the basics of these sports. The game is played in teams of boys and girls ages 5 through 9. Because the game is played with young children, safety of the game is very important. Therefore, they play with a soft bat and a soft ball. The game is highly active and creates good team building. It can be played with very limited resources on a square, a grass pitch or in a gym. 

The beeball league in the Netherlands is organized by the Royal Netherlands Baseball and Softball Federation (KNBSB) and runs roughly from early April through the end of September, with a short break during the summer holidays. The league is preceded by indoor practices from November to February and practice games in March.

To play beeball at HSV Adegeest it is necessary to purchase the following materials/items: 

• An Adegeest uniform (gray pants and blue/yellow jersey; available at SSK Europe in Kwintsheul); you rent your uniform from the club, so you don’t have to buy a new uniform when you need a bigger size. 

• A baseball glove; available at special baseball/softball stores. 

• A baseball helmet; available at special baseball/softball stores. 

• Outdoor shoes with cleats, e.g. baseball shoes or hockey/football shoes.
